I have to inform members that we have been experiencing real problems in sourcing suitable judges for our planned 9th September Championship Show.
It is with much regret that I now have to announce that the show will be postponed until a later date, possibly next year.
I do appreciate that this news will be disappointing and that many of you may already have made arrangements to enable your attendance.
I would ask for your understanding of the late notice; as efforts to secure judges were ongoing until very recently, and the decision to postpone was not taken lightly.
Further news on the rescheduled show date will be posted as soon as it is feasible to do so.

Should also add that the slot we vacated at Sandyflats has now been taken by Strathendrick Riding Club for their family show. If you need your showing fix, entries are open until Monday 3rd September & entry forms can be downloaded from the Stathendrick website www.strathendrickrc.co.uk

I'm so sorry to hear that you have been disappointed in your membership so far. I'm sure everyone understands that putting on shows and events takes a vast amount of time & the reality is that the planning committee all have other committments and responsibilities. Despite our best intentions and efforts, sometimes (like this year), these other obligations have to take priority over what we'd like to organise for everyone to show off their ex-racehorses. Assuming that you aren't asking very personal questions, I'd suggest that you post a message here or on the club Facebook page if you aren't getting a response from trying to contact any individual. Obviously, you may not get an immediate answer (all that stuff about other commitments ), but both sites are checked regularly and one of us will get back to you. In the meantime, we have a showjumping event on the 29th September at Fieldings Equestrian Centre in East Whitburn. If showjumping isn't your thing, why not come along just to say hello? We are a friendly bunch & I can guarantee you'll go home with a smile on your face. Hope to see you there

Sorry, many appologies and the likes doesn't cut it any more. This club was set up for people with Ex-Racehorses to give them something to do and to aim for. It started off great with all good intentions and it has rapidly gone down hill. Yes people have other commitments but when you create such a "Club" it becomes a great responsibility, especially when money is changing hands. If the organisers can no longer do the work required then the "Club" should be passed on to someone who can or be disolved. It's not fair to the people who have joined the "Club" to then give them nothing back in return. No shows have been approached and asked to hold Scotnorth classes, the ones that did hold them didn't receive the required flumf that is normally associated with them, the tropheys for West Fife haven't been presented for the previous 2 years. What ever happened to the Masterclass? There hasn't even been a peep of a mention of that this year. The same with the above show that has now been abandoned due to, from what I can see, lack of organisation. There have been no clinics or the likes, there has been one show jumping competition and one in a few weeks but for something that should be promoting Ex-Racehorses as riding horses that really isn't enough.
And this is all before you get to the lack of comunication and the inability to register your horse.
In all frank honesty the Scotnorth owners/commitee/organisers, whatever you want to call yourselves, need either a serious kick up the bum for lack of a better term or to sit down and seriously think what the future holds for this "Club". Personally I can't see a future. Sorry. The ROR are providing more classes with a bigger goal and are now seeing the benefits of putting more things to do on in Scotland.
Think on it but please, what ever you do, let the members know so they know where they stand!

Right, as a committee member I am going to give my two Penneth worth. The committee does need to get together to discuss the future of the club I agree. I personally don't get too involved in organising the shows as I seem to be one of the very few northern contingency and living best part of 200 miles away it is difficult to even maintain regular contact.
What I can confirm is that any monies in the club is not being miss used, the treasurer keeps a very tight rein on the finances.
It is going to be difficult to pick the club up again, I personally dont want to have to rely on the ROR for shows as that is not and probably never will be my level of showing.
Members will be informed of the intentions of the club when we have had chance to meet and discuss options.
Regards
Linda

would be very dissapointed if there is no future for the club, i had a great time at the one show i have been to and really enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and help i recieved as i am certaintly not up to the stardard required for ROR.
Will be at Fieldings on 29th to show support and hope things can get up and running again soon.

hi ,, i understand that everyone has other commitments in life but if you are running a club and charging joining fees then this club should equally have priority?? i have been frequently checking this website for details of the championship show.... putting details on a month before with no schedule surely isnt any good for people who are trying to organise their competition calender, i joined this club to try help promote ex racehorses and support your club as im sure your aware that exracehorses need promoting,, and i wasnt asking personal questions, only trying to get details of show, also the showjumping shows at fieldings arent on ur calender of events so how are people supposed to know about these shows also there hasnt been any updates of results of your shows on here which is also dissapointing, as we take time to join the club, go to the shows which im sure ull know takes time and effort, and then you get nothing in return!! so yes im dissapointed!!

Hi Princess I can understand your frustrations, unfortunately the voluntary running of a club cannot take equal priority to things like paid employment as much as I would love to be able to say it should.
There has been some difficulties with the club due to unforeseen life events that have occurred with some club members but the rest of the committee are looking at how the club can move forward.
If you would like to return your membership card for 2012 or proof of payment to me I will personally refund your membership for this year
We do apologise and understand people's frustrations and hope that in the fullness of time we can gain your support again Regards Linda

for that Princess, we will try our best for all the club members. Bear with us, we are organising a committee meeting as we speak. There is the show jumping at the end of the month and then watch this space. Events over the winter are always dodgy due to weather, but we may give some thought to photo shows, recorded dressage test etc what do people think?

EHi princess thanks for your reply. I can fully understand your annoyment. I too like to have shows on my calender to aim too and be organised for. Your right it wasnt fair on anyone.
It was my self and 'chestnutty mare' who mainly organise the showjumping. We had advertised this on our facebook page and in here as well as in local tack shops etc however we are unable to get access.to the email or website to have updated the dates ob there sorry. But this is something we are looking into at the moment also.

Why not instead of slating the club find out if there is anything that the members can do to HELP!!!!!!
These people give up their FREE TIME to organise and run this club god forbid that something in their personal life should interfer with that......
I too have been having problems renewing my membership for this year and yes I am disappointed as there was only 2 things on the calander I wanted to do this year but I certainly won't be walking away from the club and hope that things can be sorted out.
I may not have alot of spare time but if there is anything I can do to help let me know.
