Absolutely gutted to be doing this but I have to put Soli out on loan as I cant afford him. So no fault at all of his.
He is a 7yo 16.2hh tb gelding. Ex racer (Solas Alainn), retired 2 1/2 years ago, sound, as he was too slow. I have owned him for 2 years. He is very flashy, has a white stripe/face and 4 white legs. I mainly do dressage with him, he has won his last 3 out of 4 tests at prelim level, scoring high 60's and a 70%. He has qualified for the Scottish farmer/Rowallan finals in March and idealy I would liek to do this with him. Very easy to ride bordering on lazy, works in a natural outline. has very good natural paces. I would love him to carry on doing dressage, he has the talent to go much furthur and if I had more money he would have done more. He has done 2 novice tests getting 59 and 60%, easily working novice at home. He is more than ready to affiliate but my lack of funds have reduced the number of outings I have done.
He would also do well in ex racer classes, I have done one in hand and he was 2nd. I have only done a little jumping with him as I prefer flat but he will happily pop a jump but I have only jumped uo to about 2 foot, he would quite happily jump higher and more, I see no reason why he wouldnt go XC but I have never done it with him. Had him out twice to a clear round jumping. He is not great hacking, but our hacking is rubbish and so I have done very little with him, if I had safe hacking and hacking partners he would be good, but he can nap. Although traffic dosnt seem to bother him and he isnt spooky at all. I think with more work and a confident rider there would be no problem at all but yard goes onto a main road with huge fast lorries which is not ideal at all.
He is good in all ways, but he needs a Dually for loading, if it is on he is fine, but he knows if he is not wearing it! I generally lead him in the dually but on the headcollor ring as he can sometimes be a bit cheeky, if you ask him to slow downa bit he will toss his head, nothing major but I want to be honest about him. Very easy to catch, clip, I have not laoded him in a lorry but he arrived in one and I dont see it being a problem. he is a very friendly chap, always pleased to see people and everyone loves him and he loves them back, he is like a big labrador. He can be quite nibbly and mouthy so he gets very few treats as I could see it quite easily escalating into biting which is not allowed! He does like to come in at night but spent a few nights out last summer and enjoyed it. You can leave him out in field alone and he dosnt bother. You can bring him in alone and he wont bother either.
I am gutted to be doing this. It would be LOAN ONLY but would be a long term loan as my finances are not going to change anytime soon. He is currently in central Scotland but he could move within reason.
I will be very upfront about him as I want a good home, he can push the boundaries and remind me he is a young tb but 95% of the time he is very easy. He is a good doer now that I have found a feed that works for him. He gets haylege and Winergy.
Really looking for someone who wants to compete at dressage and move up the ranks.
