Not sure this is the correct place to put this, so mods if its wrong place feel free to move.
I am looking for a back person to look over Rio, I already have Archies number (from Perth) but just wandered if there was anyone else. Cheers for your help. Lisa

OOOOh if we are playing favourites I have used Archie on 3horses to great sucess plus recomended him to many other people who have really liked him He does sports massage and is excellent especially with tricky horses. But go with who you feel comfortable with.

Cheers polly did not realise Rex came up this far or thT he was still alive. Lol, Archie came out and I am glad I called him, although he could not help me out with rios lameness, but has said to call him back when the vet has been as rio may have back issues from when he was racing that where not looked at.

Another vote for Liz. She works absolute wonders.
I wouldn't use anyone who's not qualified, registered and/or insured. Before ANYONE can work on your horse you must have vets permission (even more important if it unearths something major that you need to put through insurance) and pretty sure vets can't "ok" someone who isn't qualified/registered to work on a horse. I'd be checking all this and ensuring vet approval before commencing any treatments with certain individuals.
Try "googling" or searching names on the Horse & Hound forum to get a wider view point.

QR - Liz Brisco is an Advanced Equine Body Worker so does remedial and sports massage (www.equineinmotion.co.uk); she's not a physio and the two are quite different. Sorry for being pedantic. It can be a minefield when there are so many people with so many different qualifications (or not in some cases). Best bet would be to speak to your vet to find out who has done work for them before and who they would recommend having seen your horse. Different types of therapists help with different issues. For example physios are really good for rehab work and have access to H- wave machines etc. ETA just noticed you said your horse is lame. It's a contradiction for a therapist to work on a lame horse unless they have the express consent of your vet. I'm sure you spoke to your vet and all is well but just incase anyone reading this is unsure and considering a therapist instead of a vet. Will and disappear out this thread now
