We did our first ever Scotnorth Class last weekend at South Durham Showing Group's Spring Show. Well filled class (sorry don't know any names as there was no catalogue) some lovely horses there. Our boy was pulled first but didn't go quite so well for the ride judge (his first ever ride judge experience!), he decided he was faaar to tired to go straight into canter (no wonder he failed as a racehorse ha ha!) and was dropped to third. We were really pleased with him though as it was his first ever outdoor show and he behaved impeccably all things considered. We had a lovely day, the judging was realy good and fair and the ride judge was a lovely sympathetic rider (maybe too sympathetic for our boy!). Roll on the next one

Well done - he is gorgeous.
I am coming down to ride and judge at the next one in July, so I hope he is still as sleepy LOL

Thanks everyone - Lisa we are working hard on getting him going forward without spurs so if we are there hopefully you won't have to be stretchered off with exhaustion after you've ridden him! All the horses there were very well behaved, I was a bit concerned as I've read reports of RoR classes this year that have turned into cavalry charges, so I was relieved that there were no naughties in the class to set ours off !

You are OK honey - if there are any that are wired then we don't do a group canter in our classes. The judges to date have been very considerate on that score.
You get to do a nice controlled canter in your individual show instead :-)
I hope you are there as I would kind of love to sit on a beautifully schooled horse :-) :-)
I really have to pull my finger out and do more schooling with Denzel, I also need to start visiting friends and riding their horses (NO DENISE - LEXI IS EXCLUDED FROM THAT STATEMENT) so that I can get used to different horses again - heeellllpppppppppp
See you in July and well done again for the show, you both look very posh and professional in the photo.
