I have a lovely TB mare that has been used only as a broodmare and she has never had her feet done as she kicks out if you try and lift them. My problem is she has sand cracks dos anyone have an tips on how to deal with them as i hav never had this problem before. I was told stockholm tar can help?

Cornucrescine! It's amazing stuff and will strengthen and help the horn to regrow.
Just take your time getting her to pick up her legs. For a start just literally touch them and make a fuss of her when she reacts and picks them up, cos that's what you really want her to do in the long run.
Do this a good few times til she gets the idea of what you want and doesn't panic and over time get her to let you hold them up etc. Don't try to pick them out til she's not bothered about you handling them.

Hi Thanks for the reply it was actually the sand cracks i needed help with but i am really pleased to say eve has been getting her feet done with the farrier and she is now in good foot condition!!
