Hi All
His Nibs has been having a lameness problem with one of his front feet over the past couple of weeks and after tests and x-rays, (thankfully!) it's basically down to his typical TB conformation - contracted heels putting pressure on his coffin bone.
Anyway, vet wants to put bar shoes on both front feet but farrier dubious as His Nibs pulls shoes off for fun and he'd be in and out of the yard like a fiddler's elbow putting them back on every couple of days! I tried overreach boots on a previous occasion but they weren't much help - Pip still managed to pull a bar shoe off within a couple of days.
It occurred to me that it might be worth trying hoof boots over the top of the bar shoes - has anyone else tried this and if so, which boots do you recommend - there are so many on the market, some of them costing a small fortune?

I think Bosana boots are the only hoof boots designed to go OVER shoes. You could put other boots over the top, but it voids the warrenty on them. Hope that helps, I have two that wear heartbars so I feel your pain!
