Ever since i got Flash he's been on chaff and high fibre cubes, think this is mainly cause it was easier to feed them all the same when he was in the Riding School before. So i've never really thought about changing it as well to be honest i dont have a clue with this sort of thing. He was on Alpha A Chaff for a while but this was a bit much for him and he went a bit wild so just on normal Mollichaff now. He gets Naf Pro Feet supplement too and this has been fab. Anyway as we've now moved to KB they basically said i can put him on whatever i want, so thought i better ask for some advice on what he should be getting. He could really do with some top-line conditioning, and needs his bum filling out a bit ....so suggestions anyone?

seriously i know i always say this but Topspec ;D topspec ;D topsec ;D i cant recommend it enough to be honest. if you feed the Topspec comprehensive ballencer it has stuff in it for his feet so you wouldnt need to feed the NAFF stuff, but it also has stuff in it to build up muscule and top line etc without blowing their heads. its cheaper than blue chip pro and is, i think better feeding this actually saved me money as they dont need as much hard feed with it. if you feed it along with the top spec conditioning cubes and un-molassed sugar beet and un-molassed chaff like Dengie hi-fi then their is no cerials and no sugar so it wont blow his brain either. the top spec phone line ppl are sooooo nice and i even got a money off coupon from them wee argy looked more like a stocky WB on this stuff

I can only agree with BB
Top Spec is brilliant and whilst it may seem expensive, it is actually cheaper than buying normal feeds when you see how long a bag of balancer lasts.
I fed the same to Bri as BB gives hers when he was in work. At the moment my boys all get the balancer, a scoop of applechaff and a handful of economy mix to brighten it all up. They will go onto the Top Spec conditioning cubes (make sure you feed the cubes NOT the flakes which tend to fire up TBs) instead of the economy mix.
Hope this helps

Thanks guys that's a big help, i'm sure knowledge of these things will come over time, for the moment i have you lot I've been slowly working on building up his topline through schooling but just think it needs a helping hand. They're opening up a big feed store at KB so i'm sure they'll get the top spec in for me. Thanks again.

You should do that Flashy, and keep Top Spec posted on his progress because they really are genuinely interested in how the horses do on the balancer. I deal with them a lot because of their sponsorship of ScotNorth and they are totally genuine people and really interested in the horses and how they are doing.
I started using Top Spec as a last resort with Brian, I could not get condition on him without blowing his brains and MichelleC recommended Top Spec. I was so delighted with the results I emailed them, they came back to me, sponsored our show last year and have been really supportive to many of our members.
You will find there are loads of us who feed Top Spec to our ex racehorses and are totally delighted with the results, as I am sure you and Flashy will be :-) :-)

I use Topspec. Jeff has the Super Conditioning Flakes and they haven't blown his brain at all. Kyle had them for a while then switched to the Cubes 'cos it was easier but he looks ab. fab. just now. Both get the ballancer, Alfa A and sugarbeat. I did have both Kyle and Jeff on the Topspec Calmer for a good while but I can honestly say i really don't think it made the blindest bit of difference to either of them so i quit with it.

another vote for top spec eyes looks fab on it he does not need a huge amount of feeding in fact he gets very little when he dropped weight last summer he went through one bag of top spec cool conditioning and his weight was back up eyes is a very fizzy horse and I am very careful with what I feed him but top spec keeps him calm and focused (most of the time ha ha) and I can second what lisa says they really are genuinely interested I send updates every now and again and always get a nice response.
