Hi guys I am looking into a more natural and fibre substantial method of feeding this winter. I tend not to change my feeding regime as the horses look very well on it, however the horses come off the fields come end of November due to the rains. In place of the fields each horse has fantastic large turn out bark paddocks for use daily. My horses have more than enough haylage whilst turned out daily during Winter however I can't help feel they miss out on the grass elements in their diet.......... and I find it very important for my horses that they have a good fibre enriched diet.... I normally feed Readi Grass as an addition in Winter however it can be really messy well for Taks anyway lol bless him, he tends to dig into his feed to get the mix and nuts and sugarbeet and his Readi Grass becomes bedding . So I thought Id be one step ahead of him this year and purchase grass nuts of alfalfa nuts and soak them instead. Does anyone know where I can buy these, how much they are (est) a sack. I am starting to buy in for Winter.... All help much appreciated. I am in Ayrshire, however will travel a little distance if I can collect good quality grass nuts or alfalfa pellets.... Cheeries xx
