Finnie and Chip had their feet done yesterday. This is the third time that F has had his feet done since his heartbars were put on, not only was the farrier happy to refit them AGAIN (Third time) he also commented that he was able to trim his heel this time....that means... WE HAVE HEEL GROWTH! There is still a long way to go, but I am really hopeful that we will eventually have him back into normal shoes (Natural Balance) instead of special needs ones. I also mentioned to the farrier that he did seem to slip a bit more on the road than when in normal shoes, which I attributed to there being a higher metal to concrete ratio. So he has put in a couple of road nails for me for extra grip... I am still constantly amazed by this farrier, it is so nice to have a forward thinking one who actually LISTENS to me! I must get some pics taken now so I can post a progress diary! Just a small triumph that I wanted to share with you all, added to the fact that C and P are FINALLY looking great and not scraggy (a la Finnie at Fife Show! ). I feel so pleased you would think that I had grown his feet myself!
