I have been looking for other options for feed. I wanted to cut down on the starch in an attempt to improve Brookes spooky stuff. (she is not terrible but can get into a bit of a tizz sometimes) She was on alpha a, ride and relax, speedibeet, garlic, seaweed, and a bit of mint plus apples and carrots. I have done a lot of reading and got even more confused. I called a few and the best advice i seemed to get was from wynergy. They recommended the equilibrium senior (even tho she is not a senior, they said they have 5 year olds on it) it is really low in starch but has plenty oil and stuff in it for slow release energy and to keep the weight on. So i have bought a bag to give it a go.
So after all that, just wondered if anyone else has tried it or is on it and what their thoughts were.

I can't feed Alfa A to Tickle, brings her out in lumps and I'm sure it made her feet abscess. There's a lot of sugar in Alfa A. I like my Top Spec Antilam and highfibre cubes It seems to work for her. She wont eat sugar beet Its on her YUK list

You can also get straight alf alfa sp?? but it can be a bit coarse - mine have that in summer and alpha in winter as they need a bit of fire in there bellies cos they are living out and I'm rarely riding

I feed simple systems - no mollasses, no cereal, just pure forage food and Chief does great on it, puts weight on and doesn't alter his temprement one bit.
Have fed C+C and Alpha A in the past and sent him completely evil. Wouldn't change him from this in a million years.

Thanks all. Well she has been on alpha a for 4 years and it is just recently i have been hearing about some reacting badly to it. The girl at the feed place says there is nothing to make it do that but i am not convinced. I just want her off it really. I am going to stay on this stuff and see how it goes. Perhaps, she would have been a quiet wee lamb ages ago if i had thought about it. Still, it may not make a difference and it is just her personality.

I think you will notice a difference but remember it may take a couple of weeks for the change in feed to really take effect.
Keep us posted.

Yeah, i need to just keep an eye on it, i lunged her yesterday and she was tuned to the moon, but it can't be the new stuff as she has only been on it a few days and I am still just gradually introducing it. I bought another 2 bags today as I will go thro it quickly once she is totally on it. It is a 15kg bag and she needs 3kg a day. Will keep you posted. I am quite excited about seeing if it makes a difference. What a saddo lol if that is all i have to get excited about.

well I changed eyes feed about 2 weeks ago and he is now on what I call his fat man diet!!! (sorry eyes) eyes has almost been a flighty horse but just recently he was really losing the plot so I swapped him from alfa a oil to hi fi lite and baileys no.17 to top spec cool cubes and top spec balancer he also gets top spec calmer eyes is always gonna be a wired horse but I am keen to see if the change in feed makes a difference to him.
I fed wynergy to Chianti and he looked really good on it but feed never affected him temprement at all.

Brooke has now been on new grub totally for about 5 days. I actually think it has made a difference, (or do i just want to believe that). She seems more chilled and has been an absolute pleasure to ride and lunge. I am a happy bunny

I can highly recommend Winergy equilibrium as ALL mine are now fed on this.... I have had huge problems with Mr T and colic and even though worming is all up to date, nothing changes in his routine etc he still colics.... He's been scoped too and they cant find anything that would cause this.... however he always gets gassy colic so I've withdrawn myself to the fact that "ok every now and then, he gets trapped wind - deal with it" However when I was competing at Burghley this year, Winergy gave me a whole sack to try given his history and since then we have had no problems at all.... and haven't looked back.... All mine are on the low at the moment but I have used the Medium for Ovidius and the Senior for Gus, all with fab results.... The Winergy team are fab people and I have become firm friends with Hannah the brand manager.... Mr T is actually featured on the Winergy Website case studies.... he is case study 6 - Colic Hope you find good results with this feed and dont forget to write to winergy and tell them the results.... You never know what will appear in the post!!!
