SCOTNORTH EX RACEHORSE CLUB – JANUARY 2009 UPDATE
Hello everyone and a very happy new year to you and your horses.
2009 is to be full of activity and fun, starting as we mean to go on here is a list of events already confirmed for the start of the year.
- CLINICS WITH CAROLINE POWELL
The series will run as follows, further details re cost and how to apply are on the website and the forum:-
31 Jan (Sat) - Flat clinic at Caroline’s yard near Kelso
1st Feb (Sun) - Arena Eventing/SJ clinic at Caroline’s
7th Feb (Sat) - Arena Eventing/SJ clinic at Caroline’s
8th Feb (Sun) - Flat clinic at Caroline’s
28th Feb (Sat) - XC clinic at Holefield XC near Kelso
1st Mar (Sun) - XC clinic at Holefield XC
- SHOWING CLASSES – 22nd February
We have our first classes of the year kicking off (not literally we hope!) at Jumps Equestrian Centre on 22nd February.
There is an in hand and ridden class, to be judged by Morag Clarke.
So get your washing and plaiting kit out a bit earlier than planned and start earning your 2009 points !
- DRESSAGE – 7th March
Jumps Equestrian Centre has kindly hosted some ScotNorth awards within their dressage show in March. We will be putting up the following awards:-
- Highest placed ScotNorth member in each test (6 points for the points series)
- ‘Special’ Rosette for each ScotNorth member that takes part (1 point for the points series)
The day will include a walk trot test, prelims and novice. Check out the Jumps Equestrian website for schedules and entry forms, www.jumpsec.co.uk/
This is an ideal opportunity to put the learning from Caroline Powell's flatwork clinics into practice
- SHOWJUMPING – 19TH April
Again Jumps Equestrian Centre has kindly hosted some ScotNorth awards within their jumping show in April. We will be putting up the following awards:-
- Highest placed ScotNorth member in each class (6 points for the points series)
- ‘Clear Round’ Rosette for each ScotNorth member that gets a clear round (2 points for the points series) Jumps EC will provide a further special rosette for all double clears.
- ‘Special’ Rosette for each ScotNorth member that takes part (1 point for the points series)
The day will include a ‘’cross pole’’ class for those just starting off and other classes will start at 60cm, so nice and small for us. Check out the Jumps Equestrian website for schedules and entry forms, www.jumpsec.co.uk/
This is an ideal opportunity to put the learning from Caroline Powell's jumping clinics into practice
So get your boots out and polished because they are going to get a lot of use this year!
