How long does it take to work? I used it on Cody a few winters ago and it was very effective but I wasnt in a rush for it to work so never relaly monitored it. Any tips on something to calm Lester down for Saturday..well just to take the edge off? I have Rescue remedy already...but Ill be having that!

Holland and Barratt. It has alcohol in it, so think I might need a few bottles of it ....just for myself!! But apparently if you put a few drops on your horses tongue it can calm them a bit.

I tried Magic Calmer on Bob it didn't work, Rescue remedy did initially, but I think with all calmers, once you have found one that works you need to feed a few days before the event apart from the syringe ones.

I use Kalms for my self and Tempralax for Chief!
50 mls day before in syringe, and 40 mls an hour before we travel. Easy peasy and it def takes the edge off. Can be expensive but well worth it!
Will try rescue remedy for myself as never used it. Although if it's got alcohol in it, i will prob do the dressage test giggling like a girl all the way round ! :-)

The Equine America stuff is good...think its so called So-Kalm. Comes in a syringe and you just give it to them a couple of hours beforehand....

I spoke to one of the NAF reps at the RHS this year and we discussed MAGIC Calmer at length, she said that if you saw no difference within using the whole of the 1kg tub, then it wasn't going to work for your horse. Which I thought was fairly honest!! The cost of the 1kg tub is around £24

Is NAF magic not magnesium based? I always thought it would only work if your horse was magnesium deficient. Signs of mag deficiency are anxiety.
