I read some where the other day, that sheepskin nosebands are good for jumping in when, a horse is not very good with fillers. Is this true or not? If not, what are they used for and why???

I think they are supposed to lower their heads and therefore see the jumps in front of them, rather than than their heads up in the clouds.
