Lucy has started to put her tongue over the bit, im going to try a straight bar with her, unsure as to use it with or without a port.
What she does is puts her tongue into the middle, kind of makes a square, like a little bulge, pulls it back and over.
I was wondering if anybody else has or had this sort of problem, and what they did to over come it.

Hiya missus I have just had this with a mare we have just broken. i rode her out today for the first time..(only just been backed last week) I took her up the lane and back and she had her tongue over the bit. Saying that, I did say that the bit was too low in her mouth when we set off, so once we had put it up a hole she stopped....thats only my experience from today though.....dunno if its the same. Good luck.

meeeeeee I seem to have them all at the moment Rambler cranes downwards and leans on the bit or grabs it, i wasnt to sure but i had no control. As soon as his bridle went on I have to constantly open his mouth to see where his tongue is as he seems to roll it to the back and push up. I think thats why he came to me in a roller. but... today i tried a waterford (hence my new thread) which i have never used before and he loved it. Did play a bit when it first went in but soon settled and stopped trying to roll his tongue and crane his neck to the ground. I dont know if this is the answer as im all trial and error at the moment. good luck xx
