We held the showjumping at Fieldings Equestrian Centre on sunday 8th July. Well considering the days preceeding the show had torrential rain, i was worried about what we were going to be faced with. I tried to keep positive with the mantra 'the sun always shines on Scotnorth'. Well that and all the vibes from everyone coming seemed to have worked. I wouldn't say it was sunny, but it certainly didn't rain! Fieldings arena seems to have brilliant draining and was actually really good on the day. The day was brilliant as usual, everyone was really friendly and seemed to be up for a laugh and a good day out. I know they were all happy to get their horses out somewhere as everything else seems to have been cancelled. There were a few people who were making their debut with their horses. They commented on it being so friendly and the committee being so helpful. Particularly Geoff and Lisa and Miss T who were running about mad putting fallen jumps back up, let's just say they didn't get much time to sit and do nothing Denise, our first aider was only really called on once i think but was there on standby. Bing Bong did her usual lap of honour song and Alfiesmam brought her usual mars bar cake. One of fieldings liveries, Darren, had made some gorgeous cakes and brought us a big slice each at the end, everyone had fun, all the horses were well behaved.... All was good with the world So to all the entrants for bringing their gorgeous horses/ponies, the committee who operated like a well oiled machine ;D and especially Speedy Rug Cleaning for sponsoring the rosettes for every class. Thanks to Jim Crichton who has put some great pics up on his website. some great pics for framing in there. Everyone made the day a huge success.
