Hey - I read through this thread a few days ago, and on the general advice of the people on this thread, I emailed Baileys. Today I got a call through from the most helpful lady ever who seemed to really know her stuff. I'll be trying out her recommendations as it all seemed to make good sense to me, but I thought I'd big up a) the forum for giving me some top tips, and b) the Baileys nutritionist team who managed not to sell me all their most expensive products and got back to me in record time.
The rep did say to call her anytime and to pass on her number - I'm not comfortable putting her details on a forum, but I'd certainly encourage you to contact them with your specific issues to get some really genuine and good advice..... (think they'll give me a job/discounts for this plug??!!)
Cheers, JC

Not sure just quite how a TB would react to this, but the professional Arab show people use soya meal to put condition on a poor horse for the showring. They also use Mares Milk Replacer powder, which gives the most fantastic sheen on the coat as well as mega condition. They just sprinkle in a small amount into dry feed then damp it down before feeding.
Soya meal is available from most agricultural places and usually about £15 a bag (20kg). Feeding rate is from 200g to 1kg a day, depending upon the horse's size and condition. Hope this may be of some help.

Hi guys, I used Soya meal to this winter (for a short time for Scout) alongside TS Conditioning Cubes and Dengie A, 24 hour S-Beet and our guys have done very well on it, alongside top quality ad lib haylage. I also have my guys on oil, glucosamine and garlic (although its natural garlic as in chopped from the bulb) and lots of natural munchie vitamins like carrots and apples (oh and the odd packet of EXTRA strong mints - oh no thats just Taks because he is weaalllyyy greedy)..
