Anyone got any tips for feeding something to help navicular? Millie is getting remedial shoeing now, heard aspirin but no idea how many and how often?
Any info muchly welcomed!!

iv never heard of asprin for navicular iv heard of it from cushins and laminitis tho to help the blood flow but not navicular my old boy i was told to feed a good joint supplement with condrition msm and glucosamine such as blue chip dynamic or cortaflex also for the painfull days devels claw but there is a new injection that is given through a drip over 2 hours that is ment to break away the boney growns of arthritis and navicular that cos the pain - but it depends on how far progresed the navicular is tho - speak to your vet ;D also there is an injection they get into the bone that lasts for 6mnth - a year or de-nerve them i didnt like that idea but - each to their own there is loads more they can do now thana few years ago ;D

Feeding the actual feet....Biotin AND magnesium.....there is no point in feeding Biotin on its own as it needs something to bind to. If you are looking for a painkiller then try Boswellia, more effective than Devils Claw and no side effects. I have heard that Forumla for Feet is very good also. You can also buy magnetic bands from magnetic uk that can be worn 24/7. They can be worn round below the fetlock with the magnet at the back of the foot, which is where the blood vessels to the foot are found.

global herbs have some interesting bute alternative - have a look on their webbie oh yes magnetic boots i forgot about them
