It has been brought to our attention that there has been some confusion over which club people are joining, compounded by one club calling themselves a variety of names (other than the name they have used for the past 4 years) such as Scottish Ex Racers, Northern Ex Racers and other combinations of our Club's name since this club started .
Of course ultimately there is nothing to prevent you from joining multiple clubs for ex racehorses - but if you are joining to be eligible for specific classes and/or qualifiers you should check this out before parting with your membership fee for a particular club!
This club is the Scottish & Northern Ex Racehorse Club and we cover all of Scotland and the North of England. We have more events organised for Scotland and the North of Engand than any other ex racehorse club covering these areas and we have the qualifiers for 4 of the main unaffiliated showing shows in these areas. We are also the only club that welcomes Arab ex racehorses.
We wish to avoid any confusion for potential members as there have been a few sad instances where people have joined another ex racehorse club, thinking it is this one, in order to do the events we have organised and they have not been advised otherwise by the other club.
Please, before you register with any club check the events board to make sure it is the correct one you are joining. Sadly, we can not ensure your membership is refunded if it is paid to another club in error - ALWAYS CHECK with the club organisers which events your membership will make you eligible for.
When you register your horse with the Club you will be sent a membership card from The Scottish & Northern Ex Racehorse Club, followed up with an email from scotnorthexracers@fsmail.net
If you do not have these 2 items then you are not registered with us and will need to do so in order to take part in any of the numerous events we have organised. A new card will be issued each year.
If you are wanting to do classes to qualify for the Ultimate Showcase of Champions, Festival of Champions, Inglison Grand Slam or the NESS Championship Show, along with 27 other events In Scotland and The North - Including Thirlestane Horse Trials, showing clinics with top county judge Peter Gunn (The North) and top breeder and producer of outstanding youngstock Fiona V Reed (Scotland) and jumping clinics with Les Smith (Scotland), racecourse parades at Kelso, Musselburgh and Pontefract along with displays at events such as Oatridge Equine Extravaganza and the Contour Events Equine Extravaganza at RHS not fogetting the numerous showing classes, highest placed ex racehorse awards at RC events and the points series for veterans, showing, dressage, showjuming/XC and endurance - then this is the club you need to join.
If you want to do any other ex racehorse events in Scotland and The North that are not on our confirmed events board then you will need to join whichever club has organised them.
To ENSURE you have registered with us please check you have both the membership card and email confirming this. We do not issue A4 paper certificates so if you have one of those it is not from us.
Many thanks
