Hello everyone,
Following the disappointing but understandable cancellation of Scone due to the awful weather, we are very pleased to announce we have booked the date and venue for the 2011 Championship show.
This will be held on 25th September at Sandyflat RDA centre, Caldercuilt Road Summerston Glasgow G23 5NA
We did look at venues like Ingliston, SNEC and Kingsbarn but they are all asking a minimum of £1,200 for the day and that is just extortionate, espcially when we have the cost of rosettes to add to that figure !
The RDA centre has indoor and outdoor arenas, plenty of parking, is easily accesible from the motorway and at least the money for the venue hire is going towards an excellent charity where horses give so much pleasure to people.
We are going to incorporate the Peter Monteith Masterclass Trophy and the Roschal Memorial Trophy into the annual show schedule so that no one misses the opportunity to compete for these.
We will work on the schedule this weekend.
Just a reminder - anyone placed 1st to 3rd in any ScotNorth ridden class during 2011 qualifies for the Ridden Championship class, anyone placed 1st to 3rd in any ScotNorth in hand class qualifes for the In Hand Championship class.
As we did not have any veteran classes this year, there will be an open veteran class at the show which will be the 2011 veteran championship - any horse aged 12 and over can enter.
We will email you all again once the schedule is finalised.
We will be looking for helpers to run the show so if you feel that you could come and help, please email scotnortherc@aol.co.uk and we will be delighted to allocate you a job.
Now we have the hard task of finding judges who are not already booked on that day - so if you have any suggestions again, please email us.
