I have some very exciting news for the Club.
I have been contacted by BBC2 Scotland as they would like to include a piece on re-training ex racehorses and contacted ScotNorth to ask if we would be featured on the programme.
The program goes out in Scotland and is very popular, it covers all sorts of focal issues and is hosted by Nick Nairn.
Landward consists of 5 minute segements on different issues every week and it is just fantastic that we have been approached to cover the ex racehorse feature.
Filming is planned for 12th and 13th August so we do not have a lot of time to organise things.
We have asked Karon Carson to be our 'featured' member as she is doing so well with Stan and she also has all the facilities for the TV crew to get coverage of her doing dressage, showjumping and XC.
They also want to cover me re-schooling an ex racehorse so Denzel will be getting his moment of fame as he is just out of training and a good example of the work that needs to be put into the re-training.
They also want to cover me giving somebody else a lesson on re-schooling so i will be in touch with some of you local to Karon's as this is short notice and we need to be able to pull this together quickly.
Oh - and they want to talk to a Scottish trainer about their views on retraining and rehoming. We can't use Peter as he is too close to home so I have a couple of trainers to approach about this.
They approached us after reading our articles in the Scottish & Northern Equestrian - so THANK YOU MEMBERS because without your support and participation our articles would not have been half as interesting
The series starts in September and we will let you know the date and time, and make a copy for those who can not get BBC2 Scotland.
Thanks to you all, this club would not be where it is without the great support from the members
