Biker for those that know him was a steeplechaser. Retired in Jan this year. Did not start schooling him till late April. Hes come on in leaps & bounds.. Had our good days & some quite bad days. Took him jumping at Ledstun few weeks ago. His first ever sight of fillers & coloured poles & he jumped like a dream. He seemed to love it. Wasn't placed but got into jump off & only had 4 faults. I think this is an amazing achievement for him. Will get some photos up asap but it won't let me at moment...

He is a star and Sandra did not hesitate to recommend you and Katie as his new mums when he finished racing.
I am just delighted you accepted him - he looks fantastic in all the photos.
I'm a wee bit jealous that you are jumping and I'm still ''dreaming about it'' with mine LOL

I'm sure you will have him jumping eventually. you've come a long way with that boy... Biker just loves it but didn't want to start him too soon. Katie concentrating on him schooling with issues we've had of late..
He just takes anything in his stride. Nothing seems to phase him. (apart from storm)

I knew I should have said yes when I got asked if I wanted him. Serously, I am so glad Katie & Biker are out having fun, I knew they would. I'm so glad you teo are his mummies, and added to that you are putting two fingers up to a couple of people that weren't very happy about Katie getting him. Well Done.

Sorry Jackie, only just seen this otherwise I would have come to watch.
As for the behaviour, they'll get through it. I think nearly everybody has this at one time or another, I know I certainly have had it with Bob, and little Bert has had his moments. Katie & Biker have got a great instructor and good facilities to work through this during the winter, they'll be fine.
Hope they had a good night tonight.

I know exactly what you are going through with Biker - believe it or not I went through the same with the wonderful DJ. He started off jumping like a dream then we went through a few months of hell with him tanking me round the jumps, bucking on occasion, ducking out of fences etc.
The problem is they get ''ssoooooo'' excited that they just can't contain themselves - at times like that I used to just stop, go back into the warm up arena, trot him round and maybe over a wee fence, and call it a day.
He will come through his naughty patch - like Sandra says, they ALL go through it but most do settle eventually
You are doing GREAT with him

Pam Katies friend rode Biker at Ledston on Saturday.. He was a good boy apart from ditching pam in 80cm.. he did not like the look of the double.. he went to the left & pam went to the right...no one hurt... 90cm he jumped liked a pro & only had 4 faults... He behaved himself even when storm left him this time.. Katie got 2 3rds on Storm.. shes 16yrs old & still acts like a 4 yr old.. shes great.. will keep you informed of Biker.. Still got arrogant head on but we will get there. Katie will not give in.
