I'm really looking forward to the clinics & even more so when it's a soft landing As for the jumping saddle my saddle is a new saddle about 9 months old but it's a gp saddle & I don't feel it's helping me at all. Do you know any good saddlers that would come & fit Eddie with a jumping saddle & take my other one as a trade in. Alliecat hope you're ok after your fall, I don't know about you but I'm getting too old to hit the deck, I fall like a sack of spuds...... I keep landing flat out on my back..

Denise knows a really good saddler so I will ask her for the details tomorrow.

Alliecat hope you're ok after your fall, I don't know about you but I'm getting too old to hit the deck, I fall like a sack of spuds...... I keep landing flat out on my back.. , I had nothing more than injured dignity & some sprained shoulder muscles from tryin to stay on. Agree with point about getting too old to fall off- I always seem to land on the same bit of body & it's taking longer & longer to heal.... maybe I should take up dressage instead?

I definately SPLAT rather than bounce these days. PST if it's a new saddle, it may be worth getting it rechecked as the flock can settle. Saddlers usually advise a 6 monthly check, or they did many moons ago when I worked in a saddler I used to bounce then

Thanks Misstickle but we've had it reflocked & checked as Eddie's changed shape so much in the last 6 months I was concerned it didn't fit him as well as it did. To be honest I'm still not 100% convinced it fits him.........

i recommend stubbens for jumping saddles i would never go back, lovely big blocks to hold you in place or actually alot of peeps like the albion ones too and i would always buy second hand saddles too as they loose their value kinda like cars ohhhh alliecat did you fall??? is that why your not jumping for a while yet?

I have an Albion K2 jumping saddle and it is ACE
My best jumping saddle was my WOW but that went with Troy to his new home as it was the only saddle that fitted him well.

So sorry to hear your were ko'd missus, watch yourself. Skippers can jump quite big too and as you've already mentioned, I just had to work really hard with my lower leg and hang on tight. I have found that lots of ground work had improved his jumping no end, simply because he comes back into my hand very quickly now after a "yeeha" type of jump (usually related with parallels and combinations). Hope you're ok and I know you will get it sorted! XXX
