I've just gotten off the phone to a very helpful bloke at TopSpec! He's advised me to put Charlie back on Alfa A oil, Top Spec balancer and their super conditioning flakes! And the best bit is my feed supplier has all 3 bags in He recommended i feed 1kg alfa A, 1kg per feed of the flakes and 500g of the balancer so hopefully this lot should last a bit longer than a ruddy week lol

The balancer should last you about 6 weeks if you are feeding one cup a day of it.
Top Spec is brilliant stuff !

Just hope it keeps him chilled while he's off for a month lmao Mmmmm - if you are wanting to keep him chilled and he is not in work then I would feed the top spec calm & conditioning cubes NOT the super conditioning flakes LisaH

I would not feed the super conditioning flakes, I don't give them to Skippers even when he's eventing! The rest sounds great though.

Hiya Mindy, why is that? Different opinions on this stuff is good lol He seems pretty relaxed on this combination, he's getting turned out daily for an hour or so so he gets to have a play with his little friend Bailey

why is that? Different opinions on this stuff is good lol The flakes contain cereal and the cubes don't - that is the main difference between the 2 feeds. Many horses do get high on cereal based feeds so Top Spec bought out a cereal free conditioning cube. SOunds like you may be one of the lucky ones whose horse does not get wired on cereal based feeds

did you get a money off voucher from top spec i phoned them and they sent me one out i think it will actually save me money him being on it as i didnt know they had a hoof supplment in the balencer and you can cut down the amount of feeding they get too so i could stop the seaweed and biotin and oil as well as feed less less hard feed - so i think it is a good idea argent is on the cool and condition cubes now too he has become a bit of a nutter lately but i dont know if its the food or just cos he feels really good cos he is fitter and fatter now lol

Lisah, the amount of cereal based feeds he's had I would've expected him to explode lol but he just seems so chilled and relaxed atm He's on half of what they recomended as he's not in work til January now. Miss riding him but I vowed he'd have a holiday after working so hard this year BB, never got anything off them, except the advice which cost me money lol xx

Just a bit of an update on this. I put Charlie on this stuff at the start of december, although I changed it slightly! My feed shop had sold the bag of the balancer so he's now on fibrebeet, alfa A oil and the conditioning flakes. The good news is he's put weight and condition on, he's even got a big bum! he's still off work but he's still very chilled out The bad news is that I'm a complete muppet for not putting him on it sooner xxx
